Sixteen more cases of the new coronavirus infections were reported in Kitakyushu City on June 1. The new instances involve another suspected cluster at a medical facility in Yahatanishi Ward, as well as cases involving teenagers. The cumulative total for the city in the past ten days stands at 113, including 36 with unknown transmission routes. In the meantime, the national government has yet to declare the Moritsune elementary-school where five students were included in the May 31 tally as a cluster. The Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga explained that they are still searching and analyzing the sources for those cases. The cumulative total for Fukuoka Prefecture is now 774, including 27 persons who died from the disease. Meanwhile, 625 patients have recovered as of May 31.
