Fukuoka police have questioned a minor league coach for the SoftBank Hawks regarding alleged online casino use, according to investigative sources. It remains unclear whether the coach is among the 14 individuals across seven professional baseball teams who recently admitted to using online casinos following an NPB request for voluntary disclosures.
The inquiry follows a February announcement by the NPB, prompted by an Orix Buffaloes player’s admission of online gambling. In response, 14 players and staff from seven teams came forward. The SoftBank Hawks’ executive officer Mitsuo Owaki acknowledged media reports but declined to comment further. Police continue to investigate the matter carefully. Source: NHK
