SoftBank Players Yamakawa and Kurihara Selected for All-Star Game

Two SoftBank Hawks players, Hotaka Yamakawa and Ryoya Kurihara, have been chosen by their peers to participate in the July All-Star Game. This year’s event will feature its first game at Es Con Field Hokkaido on July 23 and the second at Jingu Stadium on July 24. Yamakawa, who recently transferred from the Seibu Lions, leads the league with 50 RBIs and is tied for the most home runs at 13. Kurihara, the league’s May MVP, has 45 RBIs, placing him third. Outfielders Kensuke Kondo and Yuki Yanagita, selected by fan votes, also received top votes from players. Kondo leads the league with a .352 batting average, 13 home runs, and 47 RBIs.
