Some one-hundred staff members at the health centers of Fukuoka Prefecture worked over the standard set risk of karoshi (overwork to death.) Due to the increasing workload amidst the fourth wave of the regional new coronavirus infections, 101 persons worked 80 hours of overtime during May. The situation involved about 60% of workers assigned for COVID-19-related tasks. The worst-case involved 246 hours of monthly overtime. Source: NHK
