Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing has installed solar panels covering 6,324 square meters—equivalent to 24 tennis courts—on the roof of its Nagasaki facility. The system is expected to generate 1,400 MWh annually and reduce CO2 emissions by 590 tons.
The panels will power facility operations including office and water treatment systems. Sony aims for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 and is planning similar installations at its Oita plant. Source: Sony Semiconductor Solution Group
