Kitakyushu-based airline StarFlyer is considering restarting regular international flights to Asia in spring 2026. President Osamu Machida announced the formation of an internal review team and expressed interest in routes to Taipei, Seoul, and Hong Kong, although securing favorable time slots remains a challenge. The airline suspended routes in March 2020 due to the pandemic. For FY2024, the company reported ¥42.9 billion in revenue and ¥1.9 billion in net profit, driven by recovering demand and higher fares. It forecasts further growth in revenue and operating profit for FY2025, though net profit is expected to fall slightly due to foreign exchange losses. Source: NHK
