Street Fraud Involving Younger Generation on the Rise

The Fukuoka Prefectural Police reports a series of fraudulent schemes, playing on the kindness of a stranger. In July, a twenty-year-old woman was tricked out of ¥40,000 after she met a man, who explained he left his luggage on the shinkansen train on his way from Kumamoto. Another case in September victimized a man, who was told by a stranger that he had suffered a bag snatching. The victim handed ¥10,000 after showing the man to a hotel to stay at. Source: KBC
