Super typhoon Vongfong (19-go in Japan) is slowly heading north from the Philippines’ east ocean. It will gradually lose power but it will likely pose a threat to Okinawa on Saturday and Sunday. Okinawa moved to Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness 3 on Thursday afternoon (which means destructive winds are possible within 48 hours). The typhoon will reach Kyushu on Monday-Monday night and will possibly be a Category 1 (meaning dangerous winds could cause damage). Residents are advised to keep informed about the storm.
