Taiwan’s CDIB Capital Group, in partnership with Satsumasendai City and Kyushu Electric Group’s Circular Park Kyushu, announced plans for a large-scale data center on a former power plant site. The facility’s initial capacity is set at 350 megawatts, among the largest in Japan, to meet growing demand from AI applications. Related industries such as server recycling and maintenance are also expected to cluster around the site. A new company, Kai Shin Digital Infrastructure inc. has been established to oversee operations. The project will incorporate renewable energy sources, with construction to begin once approvals are secured. Source: Satsumasendai City / Circular Park Kyushu
