Teacher Arrested Over Forged License in Fukuoka

A 66-year-old teaching assistant, Masahito Kondo, was arrested on October 13 for allegedly submitting a forged copy of a teaching license during the hiring process at an elementary school in Sue Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. Authorities revealed that Kondo lost his teaching license about 20 years ago after being convicted under the Child Pornography Act. At the time, he used the surname Furuhata but later changed it to Kondo. Although Sue Town verified his credentials through a national database that tracks license revocations for sex crimes, the name change allowed him to evade detection. Police are investigating his motives and the reason for the name change. Source: KBC
