Tenjin Core to Close Next March

On June 13, the Nishi-Nippon Railroad Company (Nishitetsu) officially announced that Tenjin Core will close on March 31, 2020. The commercial facility, which first opened its doors to customers in 1976, will stay open until midnight on its final day in business. Nishitetsu is planning to redevelop Fukuoka Building, Tenjin Core, and Tenjin Vivre. The company aims to open a new multi-purpose complex that will have room for commercial premises and office space in the spring of 2024. Those involved in the project are looking into the possibility of preserving the Tenijn Core brand at another facility in the future. Discussions are also being held to explore how to develop Tenjin and the surrounding area. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 6/13/2019
