Tenjin’s First Hina Doll Festival This Weekend

The first Tenjin Hina Doll Festival will be held Mar. 1~3. Elgala Passage, between the two Daimaru department stores, will be the main area for the festival. Craft events will be held at IMS and Kego Shrine. 20 local organizations and 200 volunteers are involved in the festival. They have planned a kimono fashion show, Japanese culture seminars and an Hina Doll auction to find homes for pre-loved dolls. The auction will be held Mar 1 from 13:00. The theme for the event is ‘Japanese Style’ and 54 shops in the Shintencho, the Chikagai and in other areas Tenjin will be be offering discounts or gifts to shoppers who are wearing a kimono.
