Thai Deputy PM Officially Announces Plans to Establish Consulate

Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand Somkid Jatusripitak officially announced that Thailand will open a consulate in Fukuoka City this year. The Deputy PM made the statement during his recent visit to the prefecture. Mr. Jatusripitak hopes to see the consulate increase the number of Thai tourists traveling to Fukuoka. He also expressed a desire for small and medium Fukuoka-based enterprises to consider Thailand as a location to expand their overseas business activities. Fukuoka Prefectural Governor Hiroshi Ogawa committed to supporting the future exchange, with the two sides exploring the possibility of further collaborating in the fields of education and research.
