Toshiba announced on January 27 that it would invest an additional ¥10 billion in its Oita factory. The company plans to launch a new line to produce substrates for power semiconductors in July 2021. To meet increasing demands for the products, essential for industrial robots and electric vehicles, Toshiba aims to double the production capacity along with another factory in Yokohama.
