Toyota Motor Kyushu has begun testing a new solar power system at its Kokuraminami plant in Kitakyushu to improve renewable energy use and reduce carbon emissions. The project employs converters developed by Daihatsu and Toyota Central R&D Labs that cut energy loss by nearly half. The electricity generated is used in motor component production.
