Fukuoka Prefecture and the city of Miyawaka are mulling the construction of a special exit from the Kyushu Expressway to serve the Toyota Kyushu Plant and a nearby industrial park for affiliated companies. The exit would have the new ETC system using contactless payment cards. The aim is to provide easy access to the worksites and to obtain revenue. Construction is estimated to cost 1.8 billion yen. If approved, it could open in 2010.
