Toyota Kyushu President Plans to Expand EV Production

Tetsuro Choki, the new president of Toyota Motor Kyushu, aims to increase the production of electric vehicles to meet diverse global demands. At his first press conference since assuming his role, he emphasized the importance of expanding the lineup of EVs and plug-in hybrids to support carbon neutrality. The Miyata Plant, which produces Lexus vehicles for export, manufactured around 419,000 units last fiscal year. Addressing previous certification test misconduct by major manufacturers,  Choki stressed the importance of adherence to proper procedures and fostering a company culture that encourages open communication.
