Treatment completed for 275 of Fukuoka’s 644 COVID-19 Cases – Public Banned from Fishing at Some Ports

On May 1, Fukuoka Prefecture announced three more COVID-19 infections, bringing the cumulative total for the prefecture to 644. As of yesterday, 275 patients have recovered and left hospitals. At the same time, the twenty-first fatality linked to the virus was announced. While the nation enters the Golden Week holiday period, transportation hubs are on high alert. Fukuoka Airport has introduced thermal cameras to monitor body temperatures of visitors at four locations inside the domestic terminal, and airlines might refuse boarding people with suspected symptoms of infection. Furthermore, Fukuoka Prefecture and Fukuoka City have implemented a ban on fishing and related activities at some local ports.
