The Fukuoka branch of Tokyo Shoko Research released its rankings of retail companies by sales in the Kyushu-Okinawa region for FY 2011. Fukuoka City-based Trial Company was at the top of the rankings for the first time with sales of 255.3 billion yen. It finished in third place last year, but climbed past consumer electronics mass merchandiser Best Denki, which had finished first for 13 straight years, and Aeon Kyushu.
