Fukuoka City will begin trials in mid-December of about 5,000 digital signboards placed in JR stations and other public facilities, commercial buildings, convenience stores, and other locations that will provide such public information as disaster and tourism information. The objective is to provide information to those citizens who don’t read the city’s public information magazine or access its website. The trials will continue until next March, when an assessment will be made. If deemed successful, the project will continue next fiscal year.
