Trotter Trouble: Kitakyushu City’s Boar Alert

Crikey! A wild boar took itself for a leisurely jaunt around Wakamatsu Ward in Kitakyushu City, causing a proper hullabaloo. The city’s been on its toes, urging folks to keep their eyes peeled and their distance even wider.

At about half-past ten on the 7th, this solitary swine went for a stroll down a residential sidewalk, with a city worker hot on its trotters. Word from the police and the local Wakamatsu Ward Office is that from the 6th to the 7th, the boar’s been spotted gallivanting about the main roads. Every report points to the same adult boar.

We’ve been lucky so far, with the boar keeping its snout clean of any human squabbles. In fact his boar seems quite friendly. Local hunters decided against capturing or taking down the boar, seeing as it was roaming around the town center. Instead city employees even played shepherd, steering it towards the nearby Kotou Mountain. Since noon, the boar’s gone quiet, but the Wildlife Damage Control Division in Kitakyushu is telling folks to keep well clear and report any sightings. Source: KBC
