Turbines Installed at Kitakyushu Offshore Wind Farm

Offshore turbine installation has begun at the Hibikinada Offshore Wind Farm under construction in Kitakyushu’s Wakamatsu Ward, marking a major milestone in the project’s final phase, according to KBC. On June 19, six turbines—each up to 200 meters tall and located one kilometer offshore—were publicly unveiled to the media. The project plans to install a total of 25 large turbines, which, once operational, will make it the largest offshore wind power facility in Japan. The site’s logistics hub, used for storing and assembling parts, was also shown during the media tour. Developer Hibiki Wind Energy stated it aims to begin operations within the current fiscal year and emphasized its commitment to supporting decarbonization through wind energy. Source: KBC
