Two Nissan Parts Suppliers to Build Plants in Kitakyushu

Plastic foamed product manufacturer JSP of Tokyo and affiliate Toyo Cork of Hiroshima, both of which supply Nissan Motors, are nearing completion on arrangements to build plants in Kitakyushu, it was learned. It is another manifestation of the Kyushu shift, as the high yen is spurring companies to relocate in this region to take advantage of lower labor costs. Both companies, the first parts companies to join the Kyushu shift, will receive financial assistance from the national government and the Kitakyushu municipal government.
