According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Typhoon No. 17 (Tapah) is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain to most of Japan over the three-day weekend. The typhoon is expected to enter Okinawa Prefecture on the morning of Sep. 21 with extremely rough seas beginning on Sept. 20 and strong winds the following day. The typhoon is expected to move north above the East China Sea toward the Sea of Japan, along western Japan on Sep. 22. The Japan Meteorological Agency warns of floods, landslides and swollen rivers caused by heavy rain as well as lightning, tornadoes and high waves.
