Typhoon Leaves 46 Injured and Blackouts at over 300,000 Homes in Kyushu

Typhoon Haishen is gradually moving away from Kyushu; however, the region might still feel strong winds until later this evening. As of this morning, a record-high gust of 39.1 m/s was recorded near Fukuoka Airport. Also, as of noon, today 46 injuries were recorded in Kyushu, including 10 in Fukuoka Prefecture. Electrical blackouts were reported at approximately 324,260 homes as of noon today. Kyushu Electric Power is currently working to resume service in affected areas. Weak cellular signals are reported in some areas including Kokura-Minami Ward (au and KDDI) Moji Ward, Itoshima City, and Yame City (NTT and Docomo.)
