Two Korean nationals have been charged with operating a “shirotaku” (unlicensed taxi) service in Fukuoka. The head of a real estate company in Kitakyushu (aged 74) and his son (36) are suspected of illegally transporting Korean tourists using private cars in February and April of this year. The individuals in question have been accused of charging overseas visitors ¥500 for one way trips from Kitakyushu Airport to vacation rentals and guest houses that they were also managing illegally.
