The Omura-ya ryokan, a lodging facility in the hot springs town of Ureshino, Saga Prefecture, is set to offer a plan to guests offering a discount if they help pick up trash around town. The ryokan will lend the guests trash bags and gloves to pick up refuse in the city. There will be no quota for the amount of refuse picked up, nor will there be any requirements for time spent. Those who participate in the plan will receive a night’s lodging with two meals for 8,800 yen instead of the regular 16,050 yen per person. The ryokan will also give them a free beverage after they return from working.
