The American luxury cruise ship Seabourn Quest docked at Moji Port in Kitakyushu on November 10 for the first time. The 200-meter, 32,400-ton vessel, with all-suite cabins, is on a 16-day voyage visiting Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. About 420 passengers from the U.S., U.K., and other countries toured local attractions such as Kokura Castle. City officials hosted a welcome ceremony and expressed hopes that the visit will boost tourism from Western markets, which have lagged behind Asia. The ship was scheduled to depart for Busan later that evening. Source: Kitakyushu City / TVQ
