Usa City Designated as a Sake Brewing Special Zone of Japan

Usa City in Oita Prefecture has become the second seishu (sake liquor) special zone in Japan. The new special zone allows local breweries to open an additional brewing facility purpose-built for experience programs. To promote liquor-linked tourism to the area, the city announced a plan on March 25 to open such a facility inside Shuzo Kanko Kan, a visitor’s facility operated by Sanwa Shurui in the fall of 2021.
