Victory Parade For Softbank Hawks Canceled

Fukuoka Softbank Hawks have decided not to hold a victory parade to celebrate their league championship to limit the spread of the new coronavirus. Usually, upwards of 300,000 local fans line a two-kilometer route on Meiji-dori Avenue. According to the Fukuoka Prefecture office, the team’s championship is expected to produce an economic effect of approximately ¥4.3 billion this year. This is the first time for a victory parade to be canceled since the team relocated to Fukuoka.  Source: KBC
