Volunteer Veterinarians Opened Facility to Neuter Stray Cats

In an effort to reduce the number of stray cats being killed, a sterilization center was opened in Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on April 14 by volunteer veterinarians. The new facility, “Animal Foundation Hospital Miyama,” was opened in Setakamachi, Miyama City, on April 14. The hospital is operated by the “Animal Fund,” a public interest incorporated foundation in Hyogo Prefecture that aims to eliminate the killing of dogs and cats. The clinic will be open for three days each month and treat approximately 4,000 cats a year. On the first day, staff members performed surgeries on about 100 stray cats captured in Nakagawa, Onojo, and other cities. Source: KBC / PR Times
