Water Quality Inspections Begin At Fukuoka Beaches

Ahead of the summer swimming season, Fukuoka City has conducted water quality tests at five local beaches to ensure public safety. At Obaru Beach in Nishi Ward, officials collected seawater samples from about 50 meters offshore to analyze E. coli levels and check for oil slicks and water clarity. The findings will be published by mid-June on the city’s environmental bureau website. City officials reported current conditions as favorable, noting no oil films and water clarity exceeding one meter. Beach openings across the city are set to begin from June through July.
