Wood Shock Means Price Hike For Kyushu Lumber

Lumber scarcity in the U.S. has led to higher prices for Kyushu-produced cedar and cypress. Nationwide, lumber buyers who depend on imported lumber are now rushing to buy Kyushu-produced wood, causing a 30% ~ 40% rise in prices. The situation also exposes the vulnerability of the forestry business in Kyushu, as a shortage of workers prevented it from promptly upscaling production in response to this increase in demand.
