Kitakyushu-based Yaskawa Electric announced that the production capacity of its inverter factory in Shanghai, China, which is to be boosted to 800,000 units this year, will be further increased to one million units next year. They are also considering the construction of a new plant to achieve that goal. The objective is to respond to the demand from China and the newly emerging countries of Asia, as well as the appreciation of the yen.
