The privately owned Yufuin Art Museum in the hot springs resort town in Oita Prefecture will close at the end of March. More than 10,000 people visit the museum every year, but the frequent fog and humidity in the area, located in a basin, has caused damage to some of the art works. The museum opened in July 1991, and among the art it presented were the works of local artist Kei Satoh.
