Initiated by Fukuoka City, the “Fukuoka Museum Week” project was created around “International Museum Day” (May 18), established to promote the role that museums play in our society. Fukuoka Museum Week offers free admission and discounted fees at 17 museums throughout Fukuoka. Events such as talks, tours, lectures from well-known figures, and workshops will also be held during this nine-day event. Participating facilities are:
