START: Feb 2, 2016 END: Feb 15, 2016

One of Kyoto’s most famous cotton merchants will be holding an exhibit of cotton artworks in Fukuoka (its first in Kyushu). Eirakuya Hosotsuji-Ihee have been producing tenugui (Japanese cotton towel, usually used as hand towels) since 1615, but this exhibit takes tenugui to a whole new level. Check out the Bonnou Daruma (12.5 meter-long tenugui), and assorted art pieces produced specially for IMS. On Feb. 6, Hosotsuji-Ihee (the 14th owner of this brand) will give a talk about beauty of his creations.
