Pierre Barouh Exhibition

START: Dec 15, 2017 END: Dec 28, 2017

Take a glimpse into the mind of the renowned French writer, lyricist, composer, and singer Pierre Barouh (1934~2016). A series of screenings will be shown to mark the one year passing of this musical icon and to celebrate Saravah, the jazz label founded by Barouh in 1965. Barouh was a fan of the Japanese term “ichi-go ichi-e”, an idiom that describes the significance of treasuring interactions with others. Videos, handwritten poetry, and musical scores providing insight into Barouh’s musical philosophy (which stressed the importance of self-expression over the pursuit of profit) will also be in exhibition. The gallery space will also serve as a cafe, facilitating exchange and providing visitors the chance to meet new people.
