The winners of the Fukuoka Prefecture Architectural Award for Artistic Urban Design were announced. First place for general architecture was awarded to Ship’s Garden (Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City) and first place for residential architecture was given to Dazaifu no Ie (Dazaifu City). Ship’s Garden tenants include two restaurants, Bills Fukuoka and Seikeitsai Noodles & Chinois. Interestingly the structure boasts a multi-level rooftop which serves as a new public space and provides pleasant views of the the river and cityscape, day and night. Source: Fukuoka Pref., 1/21
