Fukuoka and Kitakyushu Form Open Data Website

Fukuoka and Kitakyushu will be operating an open data website that will allow public access to a wide range of statistical and administrative materials with greater ease than before. Information about the population, number of local households, environmental white papers, agricultural white papers, and hospital news will be made available on the website. This project is likely to be the biggest scale website of this nature operated by any local government in Japan. The aim is to see a rise in the number of participating villages, towns, and cities, as well as an increase in the amount of easily accessible data. A meeting is planned for September which will bring together financial institutes, NPOs, and universities in order help promote the use of the site. Source: Fukuoka Prefecture, 6/28/2017
