Hard Rock Cafe Announces Move to Hakata

Hard Rock Cafe has officially announced plans to move from Hawks Town Mall (closes Mar. 31) to the second floor of JRJP Hakata Building, the new shopping complex which will open next to Hakata Station on Apr. 27. The design of the new restaurant is inspired by the original Hard Rock Cafe restaurant in London; so the interior will be mostly brown and beige with accents of gold, but with red furniture for a modern touch. As with other Hard Rock Cafes around the world, the walls will be decorated with memorabilia collected from famous artists. In addition, the Hakata location will be the first to also display memorabilia from Japanese artists, and it will be the first to include an island bar. There will be a stage for live performances, as well as large screen monitors playing music videos from many genres. The Rock Shop, located next to the restaurant, will stock a wide variety of Hard Rock logo goods as well as some exclusive, Fukuoka-only items. Source: Hard Rock Cafe press release, 1/29
