A group of companies headed by Japanet Holdings announced plans to complete a new stadium on the site of the former Saiwaimachi ship building yard. Developers plan to complete the 23,000-seat stadium, which they hope will serve as V-Varen Nagasaki’s home ground, in 2023. The 7-hectare site will feature a range of new facilities including a commercial complex, hotel, condominiums, office space, and a gymnasium. The stadium will have a transparent roof and also host music events and other large scale gatherings. The total project will cost approximately ¥50 billion. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 4/26/2018
