Nishitetsu has announced plans to build a mixed-use complex on Island City, with buildings opening in phases starting in fiscal 2018. Facilities on the 4.1-hectare site located next to the Fukuoka City Children’s Hospital will include high-rise condos for senior citizens, a supermarket and a bus depot. Nishitetsu also plans to build a community center where people of all ages can mingle and engage in cultural activities. The total cost of the project, including land acquisition, will be about ¥25 billion, and the first phase of development will begin sometime in fiscal 2016. Source: Nishitetsu press release, 4/18
