Relief Supply Donations Accepted From Today

As part of the “With The Kyushu Project” Fukuoka City is asking citizens to donate specific items to help those affected by The 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake.

ONLY these items will be accepted (updated Apr. 20):
1. Bottled water (within expiry date)
2. Toilet paper
3. Diapers (for children and adults)
4. Towels
5. Sanitary napkins
6. Non-perishable foods
7. Wet tissues
All of these should be unused and unopened.

Please bring the specified items to Daimyo Elementary School (2-6-11 Daimyo, Chuo-ku) between 13:00 and 20:00 today (Sun., April, 17). From Monday, donations will be accepted between 10:00 and 20:00. For efficiency’s sake, items will be collected in separate classrooms inside the school.

1,000 cup noodle meals provided by Sanpo Foods will also be delivered shortly. Other companies who wish to provide goods should contact the Fukuoka City Civic Affairs Bureau 福岡市役所市民局 (092-733-5161).

Finally, working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestries and Fisheries, the City will provide vacant lots to be used as bases to collect relief goods. 40,000 rice balls will be delivered by this evening and the City will do its best to delivery them as soon as possible.
