The use of the system to receive tax breaks by donating to non-profit organizations is lagging in Kyushu. Of the 144 NPOs that have received such certification, roughly half are in the Tokyo area. Meanwhile, only nine are in Kyushu—eight in Fukuoka Prefecture and one in Nagasaki Prefecture. This is attributed to the stringent certification requirements.
