Mitsubishi Estate announced plans to bring back the popular large-scale live house “Zepp” and the multiscreen cinema “United Cinema” to a new commercial development at the former Hawks Town Mall. Both Zepp and United Cinema closed at the end of March 2016. The new commercial development is expected to open in 2018. Plans also include a large parking area for buses and taxis as well as residential apartments. Zepp is managed by a subsidiary company of Sony Music Entertainment has venues in Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. Zepp Fukuoka opened in June 1999. Before its closure, it was the largest live house in Fukuoka with a 2,000 person capacity.
