Soichiro Takashima, Fukuoka City Mayor, announced on June 19, that he will not receive his salary for the month of July. He’s doing this to take partial responsibility for the drunk driving and other crimes committed by Fukuoka City staff recently. The three Deputy Mayors will take a 30% salary cut for the same month.
