Lotte Duty Free to Open in Fukuoka

The Lotte Duty Free head office in Seoul announced plans to open an airport-style duty free store in Fukuoka City. The shop will sell products that are not just exempt from consumption tax, but also free of tariff and custom charges. The location and specific details of the store are yet to be decided, but the aim is to open in 2019. Lotte Duty Free’s first store in Japan was established at Kansai International Airport in September 2002. Their second store was set up in Ginza in March 2004, and they currently operate 15 stores in six countries. Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 7/11/2017
