JR Kyushu Ferry Former President to Step Down After Audit

JR Kyushu revealed that the former president, who was demoted for instructing the concealment of water leakage on the “Queen Beetle” high-speed ferry, will resign after the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s audit concludes. The ferry, operating between Fukuoka and Busan, South Korea, continued services for over three months despite the concealed issue. A third-party committee of experts will investigate the matter, and further disciplinary actions, including those concerning current President Yoji Furumiya, are under consideration. Source: NHK
