Fukuoka Joins National Forest Recovery Project

Fukuoka Prefecture has joined a nationwide environmental initiative launched by SoftBank. The “Japan Forest Recovery Support Project” involves all 47 prefectures and aims to promote forest regeneration and carbon neutrality over 15 years.

Trees will be planted based on eco-friendly consumer behavior tracked through apps like PayPay and LINE. The project will donate over ¥4 billion to support forest management, including recovery from insect damage and reforestation. Fukuoka plans to use its share to enhance local satoyama (managed forest areas). Source: SoftBank
